An idyllic old farmhouse was waiting to be reborn
Odilia Funk and Fredy Aebischer, the hosts, fell immediately in love with this developable house in this fantastic location above Thun. After one year of intensive planning, the renovation works were started in Novembre 2002. Together with local crafts men and lots of own handywork and love for the details, the multifunctional guest house with its unique ambience came to life.
A sincere thank you
to all the helpers, from the godson, friends and colleagues, working and Time out guests to holiday guests, who got infected with the building virus and helped considerably to make this beautiful place to what it is today.

Odilia Funk
I love baking fresh bread and arranging an inviting breakfast table with homemade jams and delicious dairy products from the local cheese dairy. To keep the house in its good condition, to prepare the rooms for the guests caringly with a few flowers from the garden and other little things and to welcome guests from all over the world, means a lot to me. With lots of dedication I keep building the house and our vision with Fredy.
- One should not overdo it, but sometimes all the good intentions are not enough.

It means lots of fun to me, to meet different people from all over the world and to offer them a temporary home. I wish this house to be more than a great seminar- and guesthouse. I dream of a fantastic garden around the house with a little wellness oasis. But the most important thing is the atmosphere of this place to be welcoming, comforting and strengthening. Our guests sense this – and they come….again and again.
For a long time I feel this longing for freedom, independency and creativity – and my life here offers me all of these aspects. I am a passionate leader of projects, builder, crafts men and assistant, as well as gardener, office worker, cleaner, receptionist and host – and much more.
